 Foundation Piecing Tips

Already mastered the basics of foundation piecing? Pick up a few pointers on your piecing technique here!

  • Sew with a large needle, size 90/14, to perforate the paper effectively and make it easier to remove later.

  • To avoid transferring photocopy ink to your ironing surface, cover the board with muslin or an old towel for pressing.

  • Use a small stitch length, 18-20 per inch, so the stitches do not rip out when the paper is removed.
