This is the fifth pattern that QM has published in support of Project Linus, an organization that provides handmade blankets for seriously ill or traumatized children. To learn more or to find a chapter near you, visit www.projectlinus.org or write to Project Linus, P.O. Box 5621, Bloomington, IL 61702-5621.

Kisses & Hugs appears in the Nov/Dec '99 issue (No. 70) and QM's All-Time Favorites (Winter '07) using the stitch-and-flip method. A foundation-pieced version is given here. To check back issue availability, go to www.villagequiltshoppe.com

If you would like to contribute to this fun project:

  • By February 9, 2004, make and send rows of 5 blocks each with all foundation papers removed to Quiltmaker Project Linus, 741 Corporate Circle, Suite A, Golden, CO 80401. Our local group will meet and sew them into crib quilts.
  • Take blocks or rows to your local chapter and help sew them into quilts on Make-A-Blanket Day, February 21, 2004.
  • Make a quilt and send it to a Project Linus chapter or to us by March 30, 2004, for local distribution.
