Step 3 Quilting and Finishing
Presented here are 2 quilting options, a simple quilting plan that does not need to be marked and the continuous-line Amaryllis Quilting that does require marking.
For the unmarked quilting:Layer and baste together the lining, batting and the quilt top. Quilt the A's and borders 1 and 2 [border 1] in the ditch. Quilt diagonal lines through the units and, in the A patches, quilt around images in the print. Finally, quilt a line through the center of border 1.
For the Amaryllis Quilting: Mark a motif in each A patch and mark 2 petals in the center patch of each unit. Layer the lining, batting and the quilt top and baste them together. Quilt the A's and borders 1 and 2 [border 1] in the ditch and then quilt as marked. Quilt a line through the center of border 1.
Join the binding strips and sew them to the quilt to enclose the edges.
