Step 1 About This Quilt
Notice that the bird print A patches have frames that march across the quilt top in alternating colors. To create this illusion of movement, choose 2 strikingly different colors for the outside strips of the bands.
Step 2 Assembling the Quilt Top
Join the strips to make the bands. Cut the bands into units.
Orienting the units as shown for each row, join the A patches and units to make the row 1's--4's. Sew the rows together in the order shown. Sew the border 1 side strips to the quilt. After pressing, trim any extra length. Add the border 1 top and bottom strips in the same way. For the queen size, repeat to add the border 2 strips.
