I wanted to make my mother a lap quilt that would reflect her love of gardening and my love for her. My inspiration began when I saw 5" square packets of green and white fabric from a mail order catalog. I envisioned white light filtering through green leaves in a flower garden. My idea started out as a simplified Lady of the Lake that didn't translate well to the fabric I had; after several changes in design, I'm delighted with the end results.
