This wall quilt is patterned in Quiltmaker July/August '03 (No. 92). To order this issue go to www.villagequiltshoppe.com.

The following pattern gives complete yardage and instructions for the double comforter size. Following the same design as the wall quilt shown above and in the full quilt view, this larger size includes 13 long rows rather than the 9 short ones shown in the images. It is finished with the same narrow black border with an additional purple outer border. Note: See our Soft and Sweet Variation for a pastel color scheme that's perfect for a baby quilt.

For more detailed instructions on each step of the quiltmaking process, see our Basic Lessons.

After a serious boating accident injury in 1996, my doctor recommended I take up a hobby while recovering so I began quilting classes. At the suggestion of some of the women in one of my classes, I joined the Piecemakers of Alameda County Quilt Guild and two years later became vice president. I started designing for P&B Textiles in 1999. Nothing But Color is one of my P&B creations.

I feel very lucky to share such a wonderful hobby. My accident changed my life. I truly believe not all bad experiences have to end up being unfortunate.
