Hopes and Wishes
A Mystery Quilt in Patchwork
Part 6

Part 6-Queen Size
Since directions here are only for the queen size, the brackets used to indicate queen-size information have been omitted.

 Making the Block Z's

You will need 8 section H's and 4 section I's.

Noting their orientations, join these sections to make 4 Z blocks.

 Making the Row 2's

You will need 4 section A's, 6 section E's, 4 X blocks and 4 Z blocks.

Noting their orientations, join these sections and blocks to make 2 row 2's.

 Making the Row 4's

Collect 4 section A's, 6 section G's, 4 block Y's and 4 block Z's.

Noting their orientations, join these sections and blocks to make 2 row 4's.

 Assembling the Quilt Top

Join the rows as shown.

 Adding the Squared Borders

Join the border side strips to the quilt and press these seam allowances toward the strips. Trim any excess length. Add the top and bottom strips in the same way.

Move on to the favorite process of many quiltmakers in Part seven: the quilting!
