Hopes and Wishes
A Mystery Quilt in Patchwork
Part 4

All of the units will be complete in this part. Constructing more sections now will give you significant clues!

Making the Unit 13's and 14's

Both these units use the same construction technique as you used for unit 12's in part 3.

For the unit 13's, you will need 2 [3] light blue B's, 4 [6] dark blue B's and 2 [3] dark red B's.

For each pair, align a light blue B on a dark blue B, right sides together, and draw a diagonal line on the light blue B. Stitch 1/4" out from both sides of the line. Cut along the line to make 2 triangle squares.

With the darker fabric on top, open and press.

Cut all the triangle squares in half diagonally.

Pair 2 [3] dark red B's and 2 [3] dark blue B's and repeat the procedure until you've cut diagonally through the triangle squares.

Pairing appropriate halves, join to make 6 [12] unit 13's. (The sofa size will have 2 extra unit 13's.)

Label these and set them aside until later.
