A Mystery Quilt in Patchwork
Part 1

 Making the Unit 2's and 3's

From 1 construction you will get 2 unit 2's and 2 unit 3's. You will need 10 [16] dark red A's, 5 [8] dark blue B's and 10 [16] light blue A's.

Align 2 dark red A's on opposite corners of a dark blue B, right sides together. Draw a line on the wrong side of the A's from corner to corner and then sew 1/4" out on both sides of the line.

Cut on the marked line, flip the A's open and press.


Align, mark and sew a light blue A on the remaining corner of each half of B; cut apart and press. Repeat to complete the remaining constructions.

You will have 10 [16] unit 2's and 10 [16] unit 3's. Label each group of units and set them aside for later.
