Step 3 Quilting and Finishing

Mark an X through each A patch.

Layer and baste together the backing, batting and the quilt top. Fold the paws down over the sashes and pin in place.

For machine quilting, refer to the continuous-line quilting diagram. Quilt the cats in the ditch and quilt around the paws, stitching "claws" to hold them in place; quilt the A's as marked. Quilt the sashes and border in the ditch. In each cat, quilt around the eyes and nose, connecting them as shown. Finally, quilt 2 straight lines through the border. Join the binding strips and finish the edges of the quilt with this binding. To display your kitties, sew a sleeve to the back.
