Step 3 Adding Squared Borders

Join the side border strips to the quilt. Trim the excess length of fabric. Sew the remaining strips to the top and bottom. Trim the excess fabric and press the seam allowances toward the border.

Step 4 Quilting

Trace the Sun Wheel quilting and, varying the rotation, mark the continuous-line motif in the E patches as shown. [Mark the motif in the 6" borders also.]

Layer and baste the lining, batting and quilt top.

Quilt all the patches and sashes in the ditch, then quilt the motifs as marked.

Step 5 Binding to Finish

Join the binding strips to make a continuous binding and sew to the quilt.
