Join an inner side border strip to each side of the quilt. Trim excess length. Sew the inner top and bottom border strips to the quilt and trim again.
Repeat for the outer border strips.
Step 5 Quilting
Layer the lining, batting and quilt top. Baste the layers together.
Dividing each foundation square approximately in thirds, quilt in the ditch two of the string-pieced seam lines. Also quilt in the ditch the A's, B's and C's, sashes and border seam lines.
Step 6 Finishing Up
Join the binding strips end to end and bind the quilt.
Layer the lining, batting and quilt top. Baste the layers together.
