How Do You Share A Group Quilt?
The Material Girls of Oakhurst, CA, sent the following letter and photos to Quiltmaker magazine. Along with the letter came a request for advice on sharing a group made quilt. If you have any suggestions for this group of creative quilters, please share them with Quiltmaker and the Material Girls in the Quiltmaker Forum.

Hello QUILTMAKER:
We are "the Material Girls" from Oakhurst California, near Yosemite National Park. We all belong to the Sierra Mountain Quilters' Association and of course, we love quilting. Your Jan/Feb 2001 issue (No.77) inspired us with the Patchwork Hearts. Enclosed are photos.

We meet once a month and enjoy our friendship -- the process of making the quilt took us several meetings and discussions. A coastal retreat to Cayucos, CA (beautiful!) helped the process. Now, it is done!

Alas, we need advice - how do you share a group made quilt? After showing at our local quilt show this month, we wonder what we will do with the quilt. Our suggestions include donation, raffle amongst ourselves, sell, rotate homes, etc. As we were making this quilt, we often discussed what we would do with it. Now it is completed and of course this group of 12 women cannot decide what to do with it? Any suggestions?

Thanks for a great magazine - we have enjoyed your issues and especially the Patchwork Hearts pattern.
Sincerely,
Peggy Cochran and the Material Girls
Editor's Note: The Patchwork Hearts pattern appeared in the January/February 2001 (#77) issue of Quiltmaker magazine, as stated in Peggy's letter. Check the Village Quilt Shoppe for back issue availability.
