It seems life changes in great ways and this time I have followed in my daughter's footsteps. Lena was the Editorial Assistant for Quiltmaker and I was fortunate enough to take the job when her dance company expanded.
I have always appreciated the fine art of quilting but only started my own quilts a year ago.
With years of experience as an administrative assistant, I knew I would love this position. My work has a wide range of responsibilities and each day is exciting. The best part is talking to our customers and hearing what they are doing in the world of quiltmaking. I also have the pleasure of taking care of our fabric room, which consists of removing the discontinued fabrics and adding all the new and beautiful fabrics (some say a quilter's dream.) Along with all the paperwork, which is a large part of my job, I am privileged to work with our wonderful staff. They now have me captivated by scraps of fabric, swatches of color, and creating my own quilts.
The arts have always been my true love, second only to my family. I am a photographer, I dabble in drawing, playing guitar and ukulele; together with a passion for travel. My position here at Quiltmaker is perfect for me as it is as diverse as my life and loves.
