Sewing and crafts of all kinds have interested me since I was a little girl growing up in Illinois. I took my first quilting class over twenty years ago when my husband and I relocated to Virginia and have been hooked ever since. My husband's job kept us moving and each time we relocated, I became active in local quilt guilds and small quilting groups. I have found that quilters everywhere are always caring, friendly and a perfect way to meet new people. Over the years I have made some great friends and developed some lasting relationships through my quilting experiences.
Traditional quilts are my favorites, and I started traveling around the country to teach and lecture about them at quilt guilds and quilt stores. I soon began designing my own patterns. Designing quickly became my passion, and I started my own pattern company. I continue to love all the aspects of quiltmaking from designing, selecting fabrics, to quilting the finished product.
Working here at Quiltmaker is the perfect job for me. Where else could I spend my day with such a wonderful group of quilting enthusiasts? I get to spend my days designing, writing and editing quilt patterns, calculating yardages, selecting fabrics and sharing my love for quilting--all part of making this great magazine come alive for our readers.
