Brenda Bauermeister Groelz, Editor
Being an editor is a combination of all that I love to do: play with fabric for quilts, design quilts, write about quilts, look at quilts, talk about quilts...well, you get the idea. Plus, I'm surrounded by a wonderful staff, all of whom are equally excited about producing the best quilt pattern magazine we can.
I've been designing quilts since 1976 and even had my own pattern business. I specialize in foundation piecing, but enjoy all the other techniques as well. I've made well over 200 quilts and tops by machine. Have to admit, I'm not much of a hand quilter--love the look, but never mastered those neat, tiny stitches. I'm in awe of those of you who count handwork as a part of your lives. My machine and I are GREAT friends. The Quiltmaker staff works hard to provide patterns and quilting motifs for hand and machine afficionados alike.
I've taught and lectured all over the United States and I used to lead quilt-related bus tours around the country, so there's a good chance I've met you somewhere! Hope you'll write and say Hi, and tell us what you're looking for in a quilt pattern magazine. Better yet, enter our design contest and show us!
